Bu sene Kuzey Amerika'da Michigan ve Kanada'da Ontario eyaletlerini kapsayan 6380. bölgeye gidecek olan GSE ( Group Study Exchange ) takımına asbaşkanımız Ozan ÇARGA da seçildi. 2 ay süren hazırlıklardan sonra çarşamba sabaha karşı İzmir'den hareket ediyorlar. 30 gün sürecek olan programla ilgili detaylı bilgiler ve güncel olarak yapılan faaliyetleri izlemek için, aşağıdaki linki ziyaret edebilirsiniz.

The flag of Turkey represents ‘The Freedom of Turkey’.
The flag of Turkey consists of a white crescent moon and a star on a red background. The flag is called Ay Yıldız (literally, moon star) or al sancak (red banner) in Turkish. The flag has a complex origin since it is an ancient design, and is practically identical to the last flag of the Ottoman Empire which was adopted in 1844, as part of the Tanzimat reforms. The geometric proportions of the flag were legally standardized with the Turkish Flag Law in 1936.

It’s been saying that the Flag of Turkey is formed in the event of the reflection of the crescent moon and a star on a pool of blood of Turkish warriors who died in the Battle of Kosovo on 28 July 1389.

One of the most popular legends regarding the Flag of Turkey is that, in a pool of blood of Turkish warriors, there was a reflection of the crescent moon and a star. There is other theories have been put forward regarding the possible location and context of this event, which include:

In the year 1071, after the Battle of Manzikert and the defeat of the Byzantine army, the Seljuk Sultan Alp Arslan was roaming the battlefield, where he saw the reflection of the crescent moon and a star on a pool of blood of Turkish warriors. After he saw this image, he decided that this would be the flag representing the Seljuk Turks.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the modern Republic of Turkey, walking on a battlefield one night after the Turkish victory in the Battle of Sakarya during the Turkish War of Independence, saw the reflection of the star and crescent formation on a large pool of blood near the Sakarya River.
And there is some theories have been put forward regarding the symbolic mean of Flag of Turkey

The crescent moon represents ‘Islam’ and the star means ‘Turkishness’. And red colour represents ‘blood’.
The crescent moon and a star represents ‘Turkishness’ and And red colour represents’ homeland’
The crescent moon represents "renewning" and the star means ‘Turkishness’.
The crescent moon represents "God" the star means ‘The prophet of Islam’.
The star represents ‘democracy, egalitarianism and independence’and the crescent moon represents ‘Islam’.

We, as Rotaract Club of Bodrum, has just finished the presentation relavant to ' Mevlana Jalal Ud-din Rumi' at the second step of our club's big project for this year. As you know the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) has market 2007 as the "Mevlana Year" to celebrate 800th anniversary of the birth of Mevlana Celaleddin-i Belhi-Rumi. Our aim of preparing this presentation is to realize an approach Mevlana topic as a subject at any Rotaract Club's meeting. We realized that there is no prepared presentation about the topic, when we searched on the Internet. You should download one of the following links to watch the presentation that was prepared as English and Turkish formats. The 10 mb folder has been loaded by virus scan programme and downloaded as two format. You can download the presentation on any formats and watch this great presentation immediately. It takes only 5.5 minutes.

We expect great interests on the topic from all RTC Clubs and invite the all RTC Clubs to approach on the Mevlana topic at any meeting nowadays, in which time is required accentuation of peace and freternity for all over the world.

Bodrum Rotaract Kulübü olarak bu sene gerçekleştirdiğimiz en büyük projenin 2. ayağında, "Mevlana" ile ilgili tanıtım sunumunu tamamladık. Bilindiği üzere UNESCO 2007 yılını MEVLANA YILI olarak kabul etmiştir. Bu sunumu hazırlamaktaki amacımız, tüm dünyadaki rotaract kulüplerinin bir toplantısında,MEVLANA konusunu işlemesidir. İnternet üzerinden yapmış olduğumuz araştırmada böyle bir sunumun daha evvel hazırlanmamış olduğunu farkettik ve bu görevi üstlendik. Hem İngilizce,hem de Türkçe olarak hazırlanan flash formatındaki sunumu izlemek için,aşağıdaki linklerden bilgisayarınıza indirmeniz gerekmektedir. 10 mb büyüklüğündeki dosya virüslere karşı taranmış ve iki ayrı formatta yüklenmiştir. "Rotaract Dünyamız" Uluslararası Projesine Katılım

Rotaract International District 3820 Philippines,San Pedro Rotaract Kulübü'nün düzenlediği "ROTARACT DÜNYAMIZ","OUR WORLD WITH ROTARACT" adlı projeye katıldık. Toplumsal,uluslararası ve sağlık sektöründe yapmış olduğumuz 3 önemli projeyi dosya olarak Uluslararsı Hizmetler Komitesi Başkanı Sevgül,diğer komite üyeleri ile birlikte hazırladılar ve son katılım tarihini geciktirmeden gönderdiler.
